Flower Design Options

Gathered Bouquet

Gathered is designed to feel like your bouquet has simply been placed gently into the frame. Blooms are brought together to replicate the natural shape of a hand-held bouquet (think soft oval or teardrop). Flowers overlap lightly, creating movement and depth, just as they would when gathered in your hands. This composition can also be adapted to suit your blooms, forming a softer circular shape, or arranged with stems remaining and tied with a bow, echoing the look of your bouquet preserved in time. If you love this gathered style but aren’t sure which shape will suit your flowers best, you don’t need to decide now. Once your blooms are dried and restructured, Kate is always happy to guide the final shape and can share a few gathered layout options so you can choose what feels most “you”.

Layered Blooms

Layered Blooms is a full, art-led design that treats your preserved flowers as a textural collage. Your flowers are layered thoughtfully across the frame, overlapping to create depth and interest. A border is left around the layout, allowing the flower design to be seen and appreciated, gently framing the composition and drawing the eye back to the layers within. If you’re drawn to this style but would prefer a lighter feel, space can be intentionally left between flowers. Adding blank space allows the clear frame or white mat backing to show through, which makes the design a little more delicate, and can beautifully highlight the unique shapes, textures and details of individual blooms.

Flower Field

The Flower Field Layout is inspired by the way flowers grow naturally in the field, rather than how they are held or gathered. Blooms are displayed with stems and foliage intact, arranged as if resting in a garden bed. This design is often created in a landscape orientation, allowing the greatest number of blooms to be showcased while maintaining a relaxed, natural flow. The Flower Field Layout feels gentle and organicmaking it a beautiful choice for those who love a less structured, more natural aesthetic, or who wish to honour flowers as they existed in the world, not just in a bouquet.

Étude Florale

Étude Florale translates from French to “floral study” a term used in art to describe an intentional exploration of form, balance and rhythm. In this design, individual blooms, petals and stems are arranged withgenerous space, flow and pattern. Each element is placed thoughtfully, allowing the eye to move across the piece and notice the unique beauty of every flower. It is ideal for those who love a more modern, curated aesthetic or wish to transform their preserved flowers into a true artwork rather than a replica of the original bouquet. Each Étude Florale is composed slowly and intuitively, ensuring your flowers are honoured not just as a memory, but as a lasting work of art.
